Paul Harding Raised more than $30,000 for Leukemia & Lymphoma Cause

May 20, 2009

Dear Friends and Family,

I was recently honored to be nominated as a candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 2009 Man of the Year. The Man and Woman Personal Injury Lawyerof the Year campaign is a fundraising competition in which every dollar counts as one vote and the male and female candidates with the most votes are named Man and Woman of the Year. I was assisted with my fundraising efforts by 2009 Girl of the Year Meredith Charleson. Meredith was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) when she was one. Today, Meredith is a vibrant nine year old who continues to live life to the fullest. Compassionate and courageous are two words that describe Meredith. Click to see her video entitled “Meredith’s Story” on YouTube.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest private organization concerned solely with funding research toward cures for blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, as well as improving the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS invested $65 million dollars in research in the fiscal year 2007 alone.

I am not sure how many of you are aware of these frightening facts, but leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under the age of 20. Every five minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer and every ten minutes someone dies from it. It is obvious that a hope for a cure for blood cancers has never been greater. Unfortunately, the importance of a campaign of this nature is never realized until a family member or friend is afflicted with this terrible disease.

With your generous support, the Society can continue funding critical research in the fight against blood cancers. All of the funds raised through this campaign will go directly to the fulfillment of the Society’s mission.

Please help me raise research funds for LLS so that we can get one step closer to finding a cure for blood cancers. To donate to the cause or to read more please visit www.leukemia-lymphoma.org.

Sincerely,

Paul B. Harding
