Andrea P. Cunningham

Andrea Cunningham grew up in Latham and graduated at the top of her class from Shaker High School in 1986. She knew at an early age she wanted to become a lawyer, and therefore directed her studies in that manner. She went on to attend Boston College, where she was admitted to the Arts and Sciences Honors Program. She took extra classes while at Boston College, completed two majors (political science and history), received a Bachelor of Arts degree, and graduated magna cum laude in 1990.
Andrea went on to attend one of the top ten law schools in the country, New York University School of Law, in Manhattan. During her time at law school, she explored different areas of law through her employment at the Legal Aid Society Homeless Families Rights Project, a criminal defense firm and a large corporate law firm.
After graduating from law school in 1993, Andrea went back to Boston to be an associate at a firm with responsibilities in both the litigation and corporate law departments. While she liked Boston, she decided that she really wanted to focus on litigation and she missed the Albany area. In 1994, Andrea returned to the Albany area as an associate attorney concentrating in personal injury civil defense litigation.
Six years later, she became an associate with The Mills Law Firm, mainly representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice litigation. Andrea enjoyed learning about complex medical scenarios and worked hard to help injured people understand their rights and obtain favorable results.
Andrea was invited to join the firm of Martin, Harding and Mazzotti LLP in April of 2005 as a litigation associate. She now uses her extensive experience with medical terminology to explain the severity and permanency of her clients' injuries. "I always appreciate the opportunity my clients give me to get to know them, their needs and their particular situation. I love that every case, like every client, is unique," she says. She now represents plaintiffs in several areas of litigation, including construction accidents, motor vehicle accidents and premises liability. Andrea is also a member of the American, New York State and Albany County Bar Associations. She is married and has four children. She is very active with her family and community. After spending five years on the Board of Directors for her children's nursery school, she became involved in her children's Parent Teacher Association and has assisted with many fund raising efforts, including a yearly Fall Family Dance for her local elementary school. She enjoys skiing, boating and spending time in the Adirondacks with her family.
