Daniel P. Dagostino
My name’s Dan Dagostino. I’m the supervisor of business development, and I’m an attorney, handling personal injury cases in the case management unit.
I was born in Rotterdam, New York. I went to school at Mohonasen High School. I went to college at State University of New York at Albany and went to law school out in Los Angeles at Southwestern University School of Law. I started at the firm when I was in my early 20s. Paul encouraged me to go to law school, and I left New York and spent about 10 years out in Los Angeles.
When somebody comes into the firm, no matter what position it is, we try to establish, you know, a mentorship program. You know, it’s not only for the person coming into the program, but it’s also for, you know, the attorneys that have been in. But there’s a lot to learn from everybody. Especially the younger generation that’s coming up. The younger generation, they grew up in a different time period than I did. They have different experiences, everyone has something to, you know, a value to bring to the table. And we kind of go the, you know, the most important person is the person in front of you, the person you’re talking to. What can you learn from them? It’s about being a better listener, not a better talker.
The paralegal staff really are the backbone to our firm. They’re the people that are there when, you know, not only when we are there, but they’re there when we’re not there. So, you know, when the clients call up and they have questions, the paralegals are right at the forefront of helping us and assisting us in handling the file. Again, we work in conjunction. The mentorship program isn’t just between attorneys, it’s between staff. And again, we work together, and use each other’s life experiences to help in dealing with every client individually. There’s no case that’s exactly the same. So, it really benefits us to have such an incredible staff.
You know, as far as having connections, you know, beyond the case, I do. A lot of my clients have, again, become my friends and goes to the theme, you know, Martin, Harding & Mazzotti family. That doesn’t stop when the case is over. I want them to feel comfortable to call me with any situation in life, or any question they might have, legal or not, that I could be of help with. And I’m proud to say a lot of my clients, you know, at the end of the day, I still keep in touch with.

Daniel “Dan” Dagostino graduated in 1997 from the State University of New York at Albany with a degree in History. Following graduation he worked at Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, LLP as a legal assistant under the supervision of Paul Harding.
According to Dan, his first position with Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, LLP allowed him to obtain firsthand experience as to the emotional, physical and financial hardships injured persons endure as a result of an unexpected incident and the positive impact of Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, LLP during and after the legal matter concluded.
After working for approximately one year at the firm, Dan decided he wanted to become a lawyer and attended Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California. Upon graduating, he remained in Los Angeles and became admitted to practice in California. In Los Angeles, Dan litigated personal injury matters on behalf of injured persons as well as insurance carriers.
In 2006, a position opened in the Case Management Unit of Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, LLP and Dan anxiously returned to New York to join the team. “Upon returning to Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, LLP, I was glad to see that they had surpassed the level of legal and personal service of any firm which I had ever been employed.”
Since returning to Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, LLP, Dan has also become admitted to practice law in New York, Washington D.C. and Massachusetts. Currently, Dan remains as an attorney in the Case Management Unit whereby he is able to interact with clients throughout and after the conclusion of their legal matters. In addition, Dan has become the supervisor of our Worker’s Compensation and Social Security Disability Departments.
Dan is also very active in the community. Dan is a board member of the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG). This is a national organization dedicated to representing the interests of millions of workers and their families who suffer the consequences of work related injuries. Also, Dan is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and BNI (Latham Branch). BNI is the largest networking organization in the world.
Dan is also active in local sports. Since 2007, Dan has coached in the Tartan Youth Basketball Program.
