Cassandra Kazukenus

My name is Cassandra Kazukenus. I’m an attorney in the Litigation Department. I handle anything from a slip and fall, a car crash, to products cases, to roadway design, kind of a little bit of everything.In order to handle the file, especially in litigation, you have to know what their life was like before and how it’s changed. So, in learning about somebody’s life, you get to know them. And the easiest way to understand somebody’s life is to also talk about yours, so then you start talking and a lot of times our files last. You know, they don’t go away in a day or two, so you have multiple conversations over an extended period of time, and you just develop friendships or, you know, a relationship at a minimum.I think what would be surprising is just how deeply reviewed and analyzed, and the thought that’s given to each file, and how much we talk to each other about our files, because the more you talk to somebody else and get somebody else’s opinion…no one handles a file the same way as another person. So, when you get that collective voice or thought process, it makes the file better. And we all talk to each other all the time about our files, and help each other. It’s not what you get everywhere.
