Nexgrill Grill Brush Recall
On March 26, 2026, a major Nexgrill grill brush recall was officially announced through the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The Nexgrill brush recall affects over 10 million units, and officials have instructed consumers to immediately stop using the recalled brushes.
Because the brush’s metal wire bristles can easily detach during normal use, small wire remnants may remain hidden on grill grates and transfer directly onto food. While Nexgrill is currently offering full refunds to consumers, this remedy does not address the physical and emotional damages suffered by injured individuals.
Why Were Nexgrill Grill Brushes Recalled?
The primary hazard in the Nexgrill brush recall is the small metal wire bristles, which could break off during routine cleaning. To use the Nexgrill grill brush, consumers must press the built-in stainless steel scraper into the grill and scrub to remove food buildup and grease. However, doing this can leave sharp, rigid bristles stuck to the grill grates, which easily transfer to food during cooking. If unsuspecting individuals swallow these sharp metal wires unknowingly, they can:

It’s likely that the actual number of incidents is much higher, as many product injuries may go unreported or are misdiagnosed in emergency rooms.
Which Nexgrill Grill Brushes Were Recalled?
The Nexgrill grill brush recall includes six specific models. Consumers are advised to check the model number on the product packaging, if it is still available, to see whether it is included in the Nexgrill brush recall.
The CPSC has listed the affected Nexgrill models as:
- 530-0024
- 530-0024G
- 530-0034
- 530-0039
- 530-0041
- 530-0042
These products feature black plastic or wood handles and measure approximately 18 to 21 inches long. They were sold nationwide at Home Depot stores and through the Home Depot website between 2015 and 2026 for a retail price of approximately $5 to $15.
The CPSC instructs consumers to stop using the recalled Nexgrill brushes immediately and switch to an alternative product that does not use metal wires.
