David Chad Hindman graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2003 with a major in English. He was born in Alabama but raised in Nashville, TN, where he lived and worked for over forty years. He graduated from the Nashville School of Law in 2008 and was admitted to practice in Tennessee that same year.
He soon joined the staff at the Nashville Public Defender’s Office and was a public defender for almost 15 years, an expression of his deep seated belief in protecting the most disadvantaged of our society. During that time he was a team lead in Nashville Criminal courts, as well as a member of the serious felony unit, where he zealously represented clients in dozens of complex felony trials for the most serious charges a person can face.
He’s a recent transplant with his wife and two kids to the great State of Vermont, but he has a couple of winters under his belt already, so he’s starting to feel like a local. Before joining Harding-Mazzotti in Burlington, he worked for the Chittenden County Public Defender’s Office.
Outside of the office, Chad is an avid writer and book collector. He’s had short stories published in several literary magazines throughout the country. He also loves playing board games and completing difficult puzzles with his wife and kids through the long Vermont winters.
