Today we’re featuring Nanola, located in Malta. They are typically known for Cajun-Creole seafood, gumbo & oysters, plus beer, themed nights & live music.

Due to the pandemic, they have had to close their doors to the public, but they are still finding ways to keep their customers entertained! They bring their live stage to you on their Facebook page with their weekly socially distanced open mics and other performances. They also offer the occasional special take-out service which they announce on their social media pages.

The best way to support them at this time is to follow them on Facebook and Instagram and to keep an eye out for upcoming special events!

About Spirit of the Capital Region:

At Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, we have been working on a project called The Spirit of the Capital Region (SOTCR). It’s a video series featuring the many local businesses, events, and charities that those in our area can be proud of. We were set to premiere the series, but due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to take the project in a different direction. Now, we feature a local small business or organization on weekdays in the form of short video blogs to get the word out about what they are currently offering. We also explain how we as a community can support them from a distance. Please give our videos a watch!

It’s Monday, May 18. My name is Emily, I work for Martin, Harding & Mazzotti and this is the Spirit of the Capital Region: Social Distancing Edition.

Today we’re featuring Nanola, a local establishment typically known for its Cajun-Creole seafood, gumbo & oysters, plus beer, themed-nights & live music. Nanola may be influenced by New Orleans, but it’s located right in Malta.

Due to the pandemic, they have had to close their doors to the public, but they are still finding ways to keep their customers entertained! They bring their live stage to you on their Facebook page with their weekly socially distanced open mics and other performances. You can watch a live band from the comfort of your couch at a safe distance. They also offer the occasional special takeout food service which they announce on their social media pages. Give them a follow to stay in the loop for their next Cajun Drive thru!

To help their community, they tell us they have been cooking for Living Waters Church food pantry and have implemented a “pay as much as you can” policy on certain take out nights. The best way for the community to support them in return is to follow their social media pages and to keep an eye out for upcoming special events!
