1800LAW1010 $10K Trivia Challenge

Week 8: September 17, 2021

Jake: … here at B-95.5. If you’re ready to play, we’re ready to do this. So here we are, the final week, the final captain will be chosen in the 1800LAW1010 $10,000 Trivia Challenge with Martin, Harding & Mazzotti. They moved to a new location, and they are doing it the right way. They’re giving you a chance to win 10 grand. But before we do, we got to try to find out our next two contestants. We have Charles Page and Christine Cicala. Is that pronounced correctly?

Christine: Close enough. Okay.

Jake: If it was the Trivia Challenge, I probably would have failed. But welcome, guys and girls, as we play along with this contest. I thank you for being here. And we’re about to begin. Just got to ask you a couple of questions first. Can you both agree that you are not using, or asking, or receiving any help from any individual around you?

Christine: Yes.

Charles: Yes.

Jake: Okay. Can you both agree that you’re not using your computer or phone for help with the answers?

Christine: Yes.

Charles: Yes.

Jake: All right. Perfect. Now, what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna flip a coin to see who goes first. So, Charles, since I called you first, what do you want, heads or tails?

Charles: Let’s do heads.

Jake: You got it. Flipping. And it’s tails. So we’re gonna go with, obviously, Christine first, and then Charles, I’ll be right back to you, okay?

Charles: All right. Sounds good.

Jake: So I’m gonna put you on hold, let’s see if I can do this. Okay. He’s on hold, and now, I have with me, Christine. Hi, Christine.

Christine: Hi. Good. How are you?

Jake: All right. So I’m gonna ask you five quick questions, you’ll have a minute to answer them, and then we’ll see where we’re at, and we’ll see how Charles does, and then we’ll all get back together and tally it all up. How about that?

Christine: Sounds great.

Jake: All right. Perfect. All right. I’m about to begin. Once I start with the question… I will start it, okay? You ready?

Christine: I’m ready.

Jake: Okay. Here we go. St. Augustine, Florida, is home to what sports hall of fame? What did you say?

Christine: Soccer.

Jake: Okay. Where is the Martin, Harding & Mazzotti main office located?

Christine: 1 Wall Street in Albany.

Jake: Spell, Schaghticoke

Christine: Oh, jeez. S-C-H-A-G-H-A-T-I-K-O-C-E.

Jake: When does Martin, Harding & Mazzotti get paid?

Christine: They don’t get paid until you get paid.

Jake: And what B-95.5 artist’s daughter was part of the U.S. equestrian team in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics?

Christine: Say that again?

Jake: What B-95.5 artist’s daughter was part of the U.S. equestrian team in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics?

Christine: I have no idea.

Jake: All right. Christine, we’re gonna go to our next contestant, and we’ll see how he does, and then we’ll tally it all up, okay?

Christine: All right.

Jake: So, hold on one second. Put you on hold. All right. How are we doing, Charles?

Charles: I’m doing good.

Jake: All right. Christine just went, now it’s your turn, and we’ll see how it turns out for you, okay?

Charles: All right. Let’s do it.

Jake: Let’s do it. So I’m gonna start with the question, and that’s when I’ll start the clock, and then we’ll go from there, okay?

Charles: Okay.

Jake: So, here we go. St. Augustine, Florida, is home to what sports hall of fame?

Charles: Oh, Florida, soccer.

Jake: Where is the Martin, Harding & Mazzotti main office located?

Charles: 1 Wall Street, Albany.

Jake: Spell Schaghticoke.

Charles: Oh my goodness. S-C-H-A-G-I-T-C-O-K-E-E.

Jake: When does Martin, Harding & Mazzotti get paid?

Charles: When you do.

Jake: What B-95.5’s artist’s daughter was part of the U.S. equestrian team in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics?

Charles: Can you repeat that one more time?

Jake: What B-95.5 artist’s daughter was part of the U.S. equestrian team in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics?

Charles: Oh my goodness. Chad O’Hara.

Jake: All right. Hold on one second. And you had a few seconds to spare. Let’s go back to this. I’m gonna put you both back on the line, okay?

Charles: All right.

Jake: All right. I got you both back on the line. Christine and Charles, I’ll be happy to tell you that you guys both missed the same, exact questions. So, St. Augustine, Florida, is home to what sports hall of fame? It’s golf. Where is the Martin, Harding & Mazzotti main office located? 1 Wall Street. That was correct, in Albany or Colonie, you both said that. Spell Schaghticoke, you both got it incorrect. It was S-C-H-A-G-H-T-I-C-O-K-E. When does Martin, Harding & Mazzotti get paid? When you do. You both got that correct. And what B-95.5’s artist’s daughter was part of the U.S. equestrian team in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics? You both get that incorrect, it was Bruce Springsteen.

Okay. So you know what that means? We go to a tie-breaker. All right. So what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna put one of you back on hold, and we’ll go to the tie-breaker question. You’ll have 10 seconds to answer that, and we’ll see where we go with that, okay?

Charles: Okay.

Christine: Okay.

Jake: All right. Here we go. Hold on one second. We’ll see if I get this correct. Now, I’m gonna have Charles go first. So, Charles, I’m gonna put you on hold… I’m gonna put you on hold, Christine. And now, we have Charles. You’re right here with me?

Charles: I’m here.

Jake: Charles, you have 10 seconds to answer this question, okay?

Charles: Okay.

Jake: Chad goes to one concert a week and runs into six B-95.5 listeners at each show. How many listeners has he run into after three weeks?

Charles: 18.

Jake: Okay. Hold on one second, buddy. All right. Here we go, tie-breaker question. You have 10 seconds to answer this. Chad goes to one concert a week and runs into six B-95.5 listeners at each show. How many listeners has he run into after three weeks?

Christine: One show a week, runs into six…

Jake: Five…

Christine: 18.

Jake: Okay. Hold on one second. So I have both of you on the line, okay? And, both of you answered the tie-breaker correct, it is 18. Chad goes to one concert a week and runs into six B-95.5 listeners at each show. How many listeners has he run into after three weeks? You both answered that correct at 18. So what do we do now? We draw a name out of a hat.

Christine: Oh my God.

Jake: It would figure that the final way to do this, and this is the way we’re happening to do it. Okay? So here we go. We’re gonna draw a name, not looking…

Christine: Fingers and toes crossed.

Jake: And the winner is Christine.

Christine: Yay. Woo-hoo.

Charles: Yay. Congratulations.

Jake: Boy, what a battle, you two. I thank you both for that. That was awesome.

Christine: Sorry, Charles. Sorry.

Charles: Thank you. Good luck.

Jake: Charles, great job playing along. You’re still gonna get a swag bag. Christine, you won a $100 gift card and a swag bag, and you get to be the final captain that gets the team together to play for $10,000 this coming Wednesday, at the huge event at the new place at Martin, Harding & Mazzotti where they moved to, at 1 Wall Street in Colonie. We invite you, Charles, to come by and enjoy the festivities too.
