1800LAW1010 $10K Trivia Challenge

Week 3: August 13, 2021

DJ: 100.9 The Cat, number one for new hit country. You ready to play this game, Andrea?

Andrea: I am ready.

DJ: The 1-800-LAW-1010, $10,000 trivia challenge from Martin Harding & Mazzotti. We’ve got two contestants, Elise and Allison are ready to go. And one of them is going to win today, become a team captain, and be able to play for $10,000.

Andrea: Crazy.

DJ: So just much fun.

Andrea: So exciting.

DJ: But we’ve got to get somebody qualified first.

Andrea: Okay. Let’s do it.

DJ: Let’s get this going. All right, we’ve got Elise and Allison ready to play the big game, $10,000 is eventually up for grabs. So are you guys excited, nervous, what?

Elise: Nervous.

Allison: I’m nervous too.

DJ: The Martin Harding & Mazzotti, 1-800-LAW-1010, $10,000 trivia challenge. I’m going to start with… Where’s my coin? We’re gonna flip a coin to see who goes first. Elise, you’re going to be heads. Allison, you’re going to be tails, okay?

Elise: Okay.

Allison: Sounds good.

DJ: It is heads. Elise will go first. So I’m going to have to put Allison on hold. Don’t be too nervous, Allison.

Allison: Okay.

DJ: Elise, are you ready?

Elise: Yep. I’m ready.

DJ: All right. I’m gonna put one minute on the clock and once again, just to be sure, do you agree that you’re not getting any help from any individual around you?

Elise: I agree to that.

DJ: And you agree that you’re not using your computer of phone for help with the answers?

Elise: I am not.

DJ: All right. You got one minute, which believe me, is more time than you would think. Here we go. Until the mid-’90s, Hannaford supermarkets were known by what name?

Elise: Oh, that’s a tough one. Wow. I don’t know that.

DJ: Okay. What program is Martin Harding & Mazzotti known for that operates during major holidays in the Capital Region to reduce instances of drinking and driving?

Elise: I know they provide rides for people. Oh my gosh.

DJ: That’s good.

Andrea: That’s good.

DJ: Fair enough. What East Coast city’s NBA team lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in their only other NBA Championship back in 1971?

Elise: Oh, goodness. I’ll just say Celtics, I don’t know.

Andrea: Okay.

DJ: Oh, and your time is up and…

Andrea: We will tally.

DJ: Put you on hold and then we’re going to… Listen, don’t worry. It’s nerve-racking for me. You know what I mean?

Andrea: You’re doing great, Elise.

DJ: We’re gonna put you on hold and then we’re gonna go to Allison and we’ll be right back. You stay where you are. Allison?

Allison: Yep.

DJ: How are you?

Allison: I’m doing good.

DJ: All right. You ready for your questions?

Allison: Yep.

DJ: All right, once again, just to be clear, do you agree you’re not getting help from anybody around you?

Allison: I agree.

DJ: And you agree you’re not using your computer or phone to help with the answers?

Allison: I agree.

DJ: All right. One minute on the clock. Here are your five questions. Good luck. Until the mid-’90s, Hannaford supermarkets were known by what name?

Allison: Stop & Shop.

DJ: What program is Martin Harding & Mazzotti known for that operates during major holidays in the Capital Region to reduce instances of drinking and driving?

Allison: You can get a free cab ride.

DJ: What East Coast city’s NBA team lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in their only other NBA Championship back in 1971?

Allison: The Knicks.

DJ: True or false, Martin Harding & Mazzotti does not get paid unless you do.

Allison: True.

DJ: What number season of American Idol did Carrie Underwood win?

Allison: One.

DJ: All right. She is done. We don’t even need to… You didn’t even need the entire one minute. Way to go there. All right. Hold on and we’re gonna get you both back here and we’ll find out how everybody did.

Allison: Sounds good.

DJ: Do we have Elise back?

Elise: Yes, you do.

DJ: Perfect. Congratulations goes to Allison. Elise…

Elise: Wow. Congratulations, Allison. Those are hard questions.

Andrea: They were tricky, right?

Allison: I thought so too.

DJ: Just for the record, how many did Elise get right?

Andrea: Elise got one right.

DJ: And Allison?

Andrea: Two.

DJ: Wow, so it was close.

Elise: Yeah.

DJ: Until the mid-’90s Hannaford supermarkets were know by Shop ‘n Save.

Allison: Oh, I was close.

Andrea: Allison was close.

DJ: Right. What program is Martin Harding known for that operates during major holidays in the Capital Region to reduce instances of drinking and driving? Free cab rides.

Andrea: You both knew that.

DJ: You both got that. This was really tough. The East Coast city’s NBA team that lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in their only other NBA championship in 1971 was Baltimore. Neither of you got that right. But that is where Elise ran out of time so Allison got to hear this question. True or false, Martin Harding & Mazzotti does not get paid unless you do is true and you got that right. And then the final question was what number season of American Idol did Carrie Underwood win? It was Season 4.

Elise: Okay.

Allison: I think I was thinking of Kelly Clarkson.

Andrea: Right. Yep, she won.

DJ: I think you were. But either way, congratulations, but listen, Elise, you don’t leave here empty-handed.

Andrea: No, she does not. Elise, you get a Martin Harding Mazzotti swag bag.

Elise: Oh, thank you.

Andrea: Yeah.

DJ: And let me tell you, I heard the girls talking about it, there’s a lot of fun things in there.

Andrea: Oh, I want one too.

DJ: And Allison, what does she get?

Andrea: Allison, not only are you now a team captain going to try to win $10,000, you get a $100 gift card and a Martin Harding & Mazzotti swag bag too.

Allison: Awesome.

Andrea: Yeah.

DJ: I’m excited. You both were fantastic contestants and a lot of fun. Thank you for joining us this morning. And Allison, congratulations, good luck for going for that $10,000.

Allison: Awesome. Thank you so much.

DJ: Thank you both for playing with us here at 100.9 The Cat, number one for new hit country.
