Week 6: September 3, 2021

Sean: 100.9 The Cat. Number one for New Country. Sean and Andrea, and we are ready to play the Martin, Harding & Mazzotti Trivia Challenge. We’ve got two contestants on the line right now. We’ll say hello to Bernae  first. Am I saying that right?

Bernae: You said it perfectly. Hi.

Sean: Okay.

Bernae: Hi.

Andrea: Good morning.

Sean: Good morning, Bernay. And Lisa.

Lisa: Good morning.

Sean: Did I say that right?

Lisa: Absolutely.

Sean: Okay. No, it’s Lisa. All right, now you guys are both vying for a chance to win $10,000 on September 22nd. This is exciting stuff. Now, obviously…

Lisa: That’s very exciting.

Sean: I know, right? I’m assuming you signed up at the website, 1800LAW1010.com. Did you both read the, you know, the trivia facts they gave you?

Bernae: I did, I’ve been studying.

Andrea: Okay, good. That’s gonna be key here.

Lisa: I found it on…yeah, I did. I mean…

Andrea: Good.

Lisa: I didn’t figure it out until yesterday, but, yeah.

Sean: Okay, good. Then that’s gonna make this even more interesting. I’m excited. Now, we’re just gonna flip a coin to see who goes first here. Bernae, since I called you first, I’ll let you call it. Heads or tails?

Bernae: Heads.

Sean: All right. It is heads.

Andrea: All right.

Sean: So, you are going to go first. So, that means I’m gonna put Lisa on hold, okay?

Lisa: Okay.

Bernae: Good luck, Lisa.

Sean: Oh, she…

Andrea: Aw, you guys are so nice.

Sean: Isn’t that the sweetest?

Andrea: I love it.

Sean: She said, “Good luck.” All right, you hold on and we’ll come right… Bernae.

Bernae: Hi.

Sean: You have one minute. Are you ready?

Bernae: I’m ready.

Andrea: Okay.

Sean: Okay. I’m gonna ask you five questions. Believe me, a minute is a lot longer than you think it is, so don’t get too freaked out by that.

Bernae: Okay.

Sean: Here we go. What track and field event did Paul Harding compete in?

Bernae: Pole vaulting.

Sean: What product is known as the curiously strong mint?

Bernae: Altoids.

Bernae: It’s free.

Sean: What Canadian actor got his start playing a TV character named Ken Miller on a TV show called “Freaks & Geeks”?

Bernae: Character… Seth Rogen.

Sean: All right.

Andrea: Okay.

Sean: You have gotten through all five. You didn’t even need the whole minute.

Andrea: Good job, Bernae.

Sean: Okay. I’m gonna put you on hold now, and we’ll give Lisa her chance. Okay?

Bernae: Thank you.

Sean: Hold on. Lisa?

Lisa: Yes.

Andrea: Hi, Lisa.

Sean: Are you ready to go?

Lisa: I am ready.

Andrea: Okay.

Sean: I got five questions, you got one minute. It’s a lot of time, so don’t worry…

Lisa: Okay.

Sean: …too much about that. Are you ready?

Lisa: Yes.

Sean: What track and field event did Paul Harding used to compete in?

Sean: All right.

Andrea: All right-y.

Sean: And you did not need your full minute either. So, I’m gonna get Bernae back on the line here. Hold on.

Lisa: Okay.

Sean: Hi, Bernae.

Bernae: Hi.

Sean: The results are in, and it is not a tie. I actually…when I was asking the questions I thought you both were gonna tie. You gave very similar answers.

Andrea: Yeah.

Bernae: Wow.

Sean: But the winner is…

Andrea: The winner is Bernae.

Sean: Bernae, congratulations.

Andrea: Bernae, you got four out of five. Lisa, you got three out of five.

Lisa: Okay.

Bernae: Great job, Lisa.

Lisa: Congratulations, Bernae.

Bernae: Thank you.

Sean: I love that you guys are so supportive of each other.

Andrea: I know.

Sean: Maybe Lisa… Lisa, maybe Bernae will put you on her team.

Lisa: Maybe.

Sean: All right…

Bernae: I will. I will if you want to do it.

Andrea: Oh, I love this.

Lisa: Thank you.

Sean: Let me go over these questions real quick for people…

Andrea: Okay.

Sean: …who were playing at home. Yes, you both knew that Paul Harding was a pole vaulter. The curiously strong mint, you bet it’s Altoids.

Andrea: You both knew it.

Sean: You both got this wrong. What U.S….early U.S. president appeared on the short- lived $5,000 bill? It’s actually James Madison.

Lisa: Yeah, I did not know that.

Andrea: No.

Bernae: Me, neither.

Sean: You both knew that Martin, Harding, Mazzotti…Martin, Harding & Mazzotti do not charge for evaluations. And this is where we separated.

Andrea: Mm-hmm.

Sean: What Canadian actor got his start playing a TV character named Ken Miller on “Freaks & Geeks”? It was Bernae who knew that that was Seth Rogen.

Lisa: Seth Rogen, yeah.

Sean: Yes.

Andrea: Yeah, that was a tricky one.

Lisa: It really was.

Sean: But listen, Lisa, that was a…you did really good. Both of you would have beat the last contestants we had.

Andrea: Yes. And me, because I wouldn’t have known Seth Rogen or James Madison. And I don’t think I would have known Altoids, either.

Sean: Thank you so much for playing. And Bernae, I’m sure that somebody’s gonna get in contact with you about when to show up and how big of a team you want to bring, and all that good stuff. Good luck on September 22nd, $10,000 up for grabs.

Bernae: Thank you so much.

Lisa: Woo-hoo. Good luck, Bernae.

Sean: Thank you, Lisa.

Andrea: Thanks, ladies.

Sean: Thank you both.

Bernae: Thank you.

Sean: Thank you both for hanging out with us and playing along on 100.9 The Cat, number one for New Country.
