My name is Adam Hover. I’m an attorney in the Litigation Department at Martin, Harding & Mazzotti. But one of the things that I really like about Martin, Harding & Mazzotti is that while, specifically in the Litigation Department, which is where I am, oftentimes people may think that I’m the lawyer working on the case, I’m the only lawyer working on the case, but there’s actually all of the other attorneys are there to bounce things off of, to ask questions to, to utilize their experience and knowledge. So, you kind of get a team approach to representing the clients. I think that’s the benefit to everybody.
The best way, I think, to connect with clients, 100% honesty. I’m never going to embellish something or make something seem better than it is. And I think clients respect that and I think that’s the best way. I never want someone to look back and say, “But you said…” You know, so I always want to give every angle I can see from a particular situation, tell them how I intend to approach it, but tell them also where there may be some pitfalls along the way that we’re going to have to work through. And as those occur, keep them informed. And I find that that works best both ways.
Yeah. I think it starts with listening, right, and understanding what exactly the… Because each client is going to have different fears or different issues or different things occurring in their life. So, first, listening to it, then determining whether there is anything that I personally can do to assist or if there’s anything the firm maybe could do to assist in evaluating that manner. Obviously then, with all cases, the object is to get a good result for the client. Sometimes, you know, it doesn’t move as fastly as we’d like, sometimes it doesn’t move as fastly as the client like, but again, it kinda goes back to the whole honesty thing. You know, I feel that if I can stay in constant communication to let them know maybe what the holdups are, or let them know that, you know, don’t anticipate this to end quickly, I mean, it’s going to be a process. But I find the more that they are informed, the better off they handle all of those situations.
