Victor Mazzotti

My name is Vic Mazzotti, I’m a partner with the law firm of Martin, Harding, and Mazzotti, in charge of Litigation Department for the law firm. And we basically handle all types of personal injury matters from defective products, medical malpractice, auto crash cases, effective premises, labor law. And our department actually litigates the cases and try the cases that have to be tried.

I always try to teach my younger attorneys is that it’s an attorney but you’re also a counselor. And when a client comes to you as a result of being wrongfully injured, but they may have a lot of other problems, that they need someone to talk to. And you have to be a good listener. So, if you call our office, there’s no screening. If you call me, I pick up my phone. And that’s the way all of our attorneys work, so we’re accessible, we’re there for the client. And it’s always good when, you know, we check in with the client, “How ya doing?” It’s nice just making small talk or what their interests are, and what makes them happy, and like I said, just being a good listener lots of times and just trying to help them navigate through a difficult time.

When I’m not working at the office, what I like to do is spend all my time with my family. My family is everything. And that’s really my joy and how we spend most of my time. I also like to do fishing and play a little tennis when I can. Well, I like to fish for striped bass and bluefish off of the Cape. I do that every summer. I also do some fishing down the Caribbean for marlin, wahoo, mahi mahi, snapper, reef fish. I live on Saratoga Lake. I have a dock and I fish off the dock for great bass fishing. That is very enjoyable to me, and my oldest granddaughter likes to do that as well. So, that’s fun, that’s something we can do together. She’s only five. And my other two granddaughters are two and four weeks.

Favorite food or a meal? Well, my mom’s from Italy and I come from a very Italian background. My dad met her when he was fighting as an infantry soldier in the army in World War II and brought her over when she was 25. So, a good macaroni dinner with meatballs and sausage and all the fixings is right at the top of the list. And I also enjoy to cook. I enjoy making a lot of different types of Italian dishes.

We work as a team, we help out one another. We have great resources to do that, and everyone’s looking out for each other’s back, and for the benefit of the client, of course. You’ll see attorneys in other attorney’s offices talking and also laughing and sharing experiences. It’s a really nice setting to be in. I’ve been there for 37 years and I still enjoy getting up and going to work everyday because we just have a great team of people from not only our attorneys, but our support staff. It’s a good place to work, at least in my opinion.
