About the Adirondack Thunder
The 2015–16 season marked the debut of the Adirondack Thunder, an ECHL professional ice hockey team. Based in Glens Falls, New York, the franchise is connected to the AHL’s Utica Comets and the NHL’s New Jersey Devils. The Harding Mazzotti Arena is where the Thunder host their home games.
After the Adirondack Flames of the AHL were moved to Stockton, California, to become the Stockton Heat, the Thunder came to Glens Falls. In their inaugural season, the Thunder became the first Adirondack hockey team to qualify for the playoffs in a decade.
During the 2023–24 season, the Thunder won twelve straight games, setting a team record. They finished with 97 points and the best record in team history, going 43-18-7-4. For the first time since 2018, Adirondack took home the North Division title. Additionally, it was the first time an Adirondack hockey club has won a series at home since 1992, and they also won their first and second round series on home ice.
